What we are for.
Two sentences carry TEACH Rwanda's whole intent. Both describe a change in teaching practice, not a general wish for children.
Collaborate with education leaders through teacher capacity‑building to implement play- and project‑based learning in Rwanda.

The word that matters is “collaborate”.
We work with Rwandan schools, never around them. Every partnership is built with the school's own leadership, on goals they have agreed, at a pace the school sets.
Slow, but sustainable. To embed new learning, teachers need the chance to have a go, get it wrong and try again. That is how learning builds over time, so we move at a pace where people can apply what they learn. It is slower than arriving with a programme, and it is why the change lasts after we leave.

Rwanda as a nation of analytical thinkers, confident communicators, collaborative innovators and compassionate leaders.
Each ambition is a teaching outcome first.
- 01
Analytical thinkers
Come from classrooms where teachers ask questions that have more than one answer, and can sit with a pause instead of filling it.
questioning technique, tolerance of silence - 02
Confident communicators
Come from classrooms where children speak up, share their ideas and present their own work, with the confidence to express themselves in both their mother tongue and English.
talk time, self‑expression in both languages - 03
Collaborative innovators
Come from project work with real materials, real problems and the freedom to get it wrong on the first attempt.
project planning, materials, time - 04
Compassionate leaders
Come from how adults treat the smallest child in the room, in front of every other child in the room.
