Who we are
TEACH Rwanda (Teacher Education and Children's Enrichment) is an education organisation based at Merez 1, Iriba House, Gikondo, Kigali, Rwanda. This website is www.teachrwanda.org. When this policy says "we" or "us", it means TEACH Rwanda.
What we collect and why
When you contact us. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, school or organisation (if you give one), the topic you choose and your message. We use this only to reply to you and to follow up on your enquiry. The form sends your message to our team inbox; it is not published anywhere.
When you donate. Donations are processed by Zeffy, a fundraising platform. We do not see or store your card or bank details. Zeffy shares your name, email address and donation details with us so we can thank you and send any receipt you need. Zeffy's own privacy policy explains how it handles your information.
When you join our newsletter list. If you ask to receive our newsletter, we keep your name and email address to send it to you. You can ask to be removed at any time.
Cookies and similar technology
This website does not use advertising cookies. It uses a small amount of storage in your browser so the introduction animation plays once per visit, and our hosting provider uses technical cookies to keep the site fast and secure. If you play an embedded YouTube video, YouTube may set its own cookies. If we add visitor statistics in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.
Photographs of children
Photographs of children on this website are published with the consent of their parents or guardians. If you would like a photograph removed, contact us and we will act on your request promptly.
Who we share information with
We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with the services that help us run TEACH Rwanda, such as our email, website hosting and donation providers, and only as needed for them to provide those services, or where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to respond and follow up, and donation records for as long as we are required to for accounting and legal purposes. Newsletter details are kept until you ask to be removed.
Your rights
Under Rwanda's Law No. 058/2021 relating to the protection of personal data and privacy, and other laws that may apply to you, you can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond as soon as we can.
